Cancellation policy

  • A 24 hour notice is required when cancelling an appointment.

  • If an appointment is cancelled with less than a 24 hour notice it is classified as a No-Show.

  • Arriving for your pets appointment without the required rabies paperwork, or with expired rabies information is classified as a No-Show. We inform every pet parent at the time of booking that we need to see the date the next rabies shot is due for your pet- unfortunately, it happens very often that pet parents inform us their pet is up to date and will bring the paperwork, but then find out the day of the appt that their pet’s vaccine is due. This policy allows us to mitigate some of the financial strain this can cause for a small, service-based business. I highly recommend calling your vet the day that you book your appt to ensure your pet is up to date in time for their appointment.

  • In the scenario that you are 15 minutes late or more to your appointment and we no longer have time for the service, this will count as a no-show as we will no longer be able to perform the service that day

  • A $40 No-Show fee will be collected BEFORE being able to book next appointment (with the exception that the total cost of your service is less than the amount of $40, in which case you would pay the amount of the missed service), this can be paid via debit/credit card or cash/check in person or by mail. This payment must be received before your pets next appointment can be booked.

Vaccinations

  • Rabies vaccine information is required for any pet 4 months of age or older in the form of their rabies certificate- this is PA state law. (www.agriculture.pa.gov for more info)

  • Rabies vaccines are only recognized as valid if administered by a licensed veterinarian.

  • The Rabies Certificate is considered proof of vaccination (not a receipt, collar tag, or general vaccine certificate)

  • We can NOT accept handwritten rabies information, for obvious reasons. What we need is the rabies certificate from your vet. The handwritten booklet vet’s sometimes give you to go along with your certificate does not count as the certificate.

  • The rabies certificate can be shown as a physical copy, it can be emailed to LFpetspa@gmail.com, or you may present the email or screenshot of the certificate on your phone at the time of appointment.

  • Rabies information is required by the time of your pets appointment, please have it ready for check-in.

  • Once the expiration date of your pets rabies vaccine is entered into our computer system it will be saved there until the shot is expired, so this information only needs to be presented at your pets first appointment.

  • It is the pet parent’s responsibility to bring the rabies information to the appointment, this is the only vaccine info/paperwork we require. If we have time we can as a courtesy call your veterinarian and get the info verbally over the phone, but sometimes the office has different business hours and is closed at the time, or if the salon is busy we may not have time to wait on hold for you.

Medication

  • Sedatives are permitted if your pet gets nervous at the groomer. A sedative can help calm your dog down enough to realize that they are safe and the process doesn’t hurt them and hopefully we can slowly wean them off that medication as they get to know us. The dosage can be enough to calm your pet, but not so much that your pet is unsteady on their feet or unconscious. Please let your groomer know of any medications given to your pet at check in so we can appropriately respond to their behaviors

  • A pet with a health condition that can cause pain, for example dental issues can affect a pet’s behavior during grooming by causing them to resist having their face touched or pets with arthritis can be pained by having their body manipulated during grooming, they may benefit from a pain medication or anti-inflammatory medication on grooming days. Talk to your veterinarian to see if they recommend anything to help your pet through the grooming process. Our goal is to make the fur baby’s experience as comfortable as possible.

  • Fleas: If fleas are found we will use a non-medicated flea shampoo to rid your pet of their pests. It is important to note that this shampoo will not repel/prevent fleas further, it will only take care of the fleas that are on them at the moment. I highly recommend keeping your pet up to date with flea/tick prevention year round as Pennsylvania has a high rate of tick-borne illnesses and flea allergies are common.

what does an appt at lfps look like?

  • Drop off: When you come in for your appointment you will be asked for your rabies paperwork if necessary and then a series of health questions about your pet

  • Next, we will assess your pet and discuss which services will be best for your fur-baby, including package choice and haircut style

  • Services typically last between 2 and 4 hours, but pet grooming can be a bit unpredictable. Sometimes we may over or under-estimate on timing so please inform us as soon as possible if you have any time constraints the day of your appointment so that we can prioritize timing if necessary. We will give you a call when you can head over to pick up your fresh fur baby!

  • At pick up please let your groomer know if you would like any adjustments to your pets haircut, we want you and your pet leaving happy! We are more than happy to take a few minutes and touch anything up that you may want as long as the pet can tolerate it.

  • At pick up your groomer will go over how your pet did during their service; your groomer will let you know if there was any part of the service your pet struggled with or disliked and give tips on how to work on any aversions to the grooming process at home. We want to work as a team to make your pet as comfortable as possible during their time with us as the grooming process can be scary to some pets.

  • Lastly, we will collect payment via cash, card, or check and, if needed, schedule your pets next service (this is recommended to prevent having to wait longer once they are ready for their next groom)

General

  • While your fur baby is in our care, health and welfare is our primary concern.

  • All pre existing health conditions must be discussed with us prior to grooming.

  • Lavender Fields Pet Spa maintains the right to refuse any service for a number of reasons including, but not limited to, the pet showing signs that they may be unwell, infirm, too aggressive or too fearful

  • We have the utmost respect for our clients and expect to be communicated with respectfully in return. We do not tolerate aggressive or hostile communication/behavior from our human clients. Although, we will help the pets through this behavior if we can haha!
